I’m glad to hear you liking the new Xcom expansion Josh. I love Xcom 2 and was bummed you and Rutskarn didn’t like it, although your criticisms were fair and I could see where you were coming from. I haven’t really been able to sink my teeth into the expansion unfortunately, but I like what I’ve seen from it. Glad to hear you enjoying it!
This was a good spwarcast for me, cos I’ve played about half of the games you talked about! In fact I was playing Heat Signature while listening (Just completed it). I would highly recommend it, and it’s pretty cheap too.
Next up is XCOM2: WotC which has a lot of nice additions onto normal XCOM2. I made sure to get the various Star Trek voice packs from the steam workshop, so on some missions I can have essentially two different Worfs which amuses me more than it should.
Re: XCOM2:WotC friendship system.
I’m pretty sure this was intended as a sort of ‘buddy-cop-film’ thing, not romance. You could interpret it that way if you want, since it’s pretty generically phrased, but I don’t think that was the intent. Fits better with the action-movie poster thing they’ve got going on. 🙂
Regarding talking to people about games, I avoid discussions of video games because many of the subcultures surrounding games are super toxic. As a queer person, I have had too many bad experiences with folks that I can’t justify going through the mental and emotional hoops of finding Real People who like games and aren’t gross about it; and with the internet, I find it isn’t too difficult to find the good folks (like you guys!) who aren’t. I can’t speak for everyone, and of course the toxicity is everywhere at this point, but I’d rather not infect my downtime with invective.
While it would make a pretty terrible season, it would be fun to see the Spoiler Warning crew react to the anime bullshit of Danganronpa. Maybe play just one chapter on the show.
The plot is still very dumb, but the third game is a lot of fun so far.
