Actually I think that guard was just trying to be thematically appropriate. Similar to the main villains, he killed off one of your enemies so that you could be punished for having dead enemies. Microcosmic!
Eh, Far Reach is superior as far as I’m concerned. ‘Cause who needs boring old teleportation when you can have a SHADOWY ELDRITCH TENTACLE ARM that you can use to pull people in for SURPRISE SLEEPY HUGS?
Oh, and I’m proud to say that I never cheated at the safe-cracking contest. As soon as I walked in the safe store, I just started fiddling with random combinations, not really expecting to get anywhere with it, and then it just OPENED. I won that thing LEGIT. And that’s not even the only combination lock I somehow managed to luck my way through during the game either, it was just the first. :’)
technically you’re only supposed to have one attempt! but the rules are not enforced, so in reality anything goes.
