Personally, I love the Reccetear game. I’ve put in almost 100 hours playing it. It does get very interesting in the ways that Chris talks about with having to balance daily time-tables with acquiring items from shops and adventuring and having to make sure you can sell enough items to make the regular payments.
It does have a very sloggy intro to get through, but after that first hour you’re left to your own devices as to how to manage your daily cycle. I like that you are covering this game, but hate that your coverage is hurt by not having anyone there who’s played the game before. It definitely has it’s faults, but when you’re let loose to play with the mechanics the game is a lot of fun and charming.
Well, the game is part Visual Novel. There are story events, plotlines with recurring characters, … The intro is a bit long for this Patreon week but it ‘s not really an issue when you’re playing the full game.
I must say I love the localization of the game. Yayifications indeed!
Also, I had a shudder when I saw the little girl customer buying stuff. They will try to buy everything at basically base price and loudly complain when you refuse. Every time.
